Most people don't think that one death warrants such on-going trauma. I have just finished reading a book by Michael J. Durant - In the company of Heroes, endorsed by your husband, (and that set me to looking him up on the internet.)In this book is a quote that says: Look back, but don't stare. Rather apt, I thought.
I am not sure why I enjoy 'war' books - rather odd for a woman... but I have always recommended Chickenhawk to whoever will listen.
You seem like such a good person.
Regards,

Verna PycraftAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3104906156789221902.post-73444694531020476302013-06-01T06:00:39.660-04:002013-06-01T06:00:39.660-04:00I have ptsd from being on the streets as a young t...I have ptsd from being on the streets as a young teen and witness alot of things that haunt me,iv never been in the military but things i have seen wete bad i still struggle every day,and the one thing i do hate is people that do say "i understand" my ex wife would say it all the time to me and try to show some love to me the love was nice it did help bit the other day i caught her cheating it hurts and hurts like hell,my question is am i wrong for having the feeling of just wanting to be alone and be on my own and feeling like im happier on my own.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05768689276640377589noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3104906156789221902.post-64341672339819697972013-05-22T10:51:45.084-04:002013-05-22T10:51:45.084-04:00Patience, you deserve to know that your work on be...Patience, you deserve to know that your work on behalf of PTSD sufferers and those closest to them is possibly the single best resource of support to be found. While the education of the pathology behind PTSD is essential, it is your practical wisdom that heals wounds. I found your book, Recovering from the War, and other web resources right on target. In a world
with trauma on all "fronts", it is helpful for
co-sufferers to substitute "veteran" for police, firefighter, medic, railroad engineer, trauma surgeon, sex abuse victim, natural disaster survivor, etc. In this way, your marvelous work can help with healing for all!
Thank you for all you do!
